In the previous piece, we talked about the significance of the New Moon, and how it is used to determine the New Hebrew months, the Shabbats, and Holy Feast days. Now let’s take a look at how the arrival of the New Moon inspired another significant event for our ancestors, the sounding off of the trumpets.
After the children of Yisrael were delivered from Egypt, The Most High established a mechanism to get the attention of His people and gather them together to Himself. Numbers 10:2 Yahuwah instructed Yisrael to create shofars or trumpets, which were shaped like ram’s horns made from silver. The Most High commanded the children of Yisrael to not only use the trumpets to gather the people at His Tabernacle for worship, they were also used to sound alarms and announce New moons, Shabbats, and Holy Feast days. Numbers 10:1-3,10, II Samuel 2:28

So now the children of The Most High not only has a visual sign for the beginning of the new month in the New Moon itself, but they also have a “signal” that they can hear, and once those trumpets sound off, they knew what time it was, whether they saw The New Moon or not.
Since the exile and destruction of Yisrael, the keeping of these ordinances had just about ceased, except for maybe a small remnant. However, now many are waking up to The Truth of scripture, their identity and are observing the New Moons, even some from other nationalities, as The Most High is once again, gathering His people to Himself. Shalom
